Social Print Studio Review & GIVEAWAY [CLOSED]

After Brielle was born in December, we excitedly did her newborn photoshoot and designed a birth announcement so that we could share the news of our baby girl’s arrival!  Our birth announcements were square, and we searched online for sites that could do good quality square prints.  I came upon “Social Print Studio” (formerly known as Prinstagram) and was impressed with their well laid-out site and the products they had to offer.  In addition to their square prints, I was intrigued by their Minibooks which I will show you later on in this post!

This company specializes in printing Instagram photos, and you can sign into your Instagram account through their site and choose your photos from there, making the whole process very quick and simple.  I opted to upload my photos from my desktop as there were some photos I wanted to include in my Minibooks that were not on my Instagram page.  After placing my order, our square prints and Minibooks came within a week through FedEx, and I was surprised by how quickly they came, particularly since my order shipped from Taiwan.  In case you’re wondering, I was told that 30% of their products are printed and shipped in-house from San Francisco, 10% from Santa Cruz, and the rest from their partners in Taiwan.

Brielle’s birth announcements turned out great as we were very happy with how the colours printed and with the thickness of the paper (archival quality paper with a smooth matte finish).  Each square measures 4″ by 4″, and you also have the option of printing on both sides of the square.  Read more about their square prints HERE!

We were very excited to give these birth announcements out to our friends and family!

I couldn’t resist ordering some Minibooks to display my photos since they were so cute and little!  They have spiral coil binding and are encased by a clear plastic cover in the front and a white plastic cover on the back.  Each photo is printed on cardstock with a glossy finish- we would have preferred a matte option, but the company said they might make this option available later on in the year.  When ordering these Minibooks, you get a set of 2 books for $12: you can either choose 100 different photos and get 2 different books, or 50 different photos and get 2 identical books.  I opted to get 2 different books: one highlighting my crochet work and one highlighting family and travel moments from 2014!

Here you can see a spread from my family Minibook!  I love how portable these little books are as you can keep them in your purse or in your pocket and be ready to share these photos wherever you are 🙂  If you end up getting two of the same book, you could always keep one for yourself and gift one to a family member or friend!

The hardest part was choosing which photos to include, but uploading and placing them in the order I wanted was very simple.  We filmed a short Instagram video showing my Crochet Minibook so you can see what the photos look like too!
