Christmas 2015

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas spent with your loved ones!  We had a very restful time at home with family.  Christmas seems extra special when you have young ones as there is so much excitement and wonder!  Myla had a blast decorating our tree as she placed each ornament with great care.  It’s adorable because all the ones she placed on the tree were clustered towards the bottom since those branches were within her reach!  Brie is just starting to stand but next year she’ll be running around like her sister!

One of the ornaments we added this year was this beautiful and personalized bulb pictured below!  I love the elegant gold against the white!  Our friend Lauren of “Rabbits Loop Calligraphy” (@rabbitsloopcalligraphy on Instagram) gifted it to us!  She does such lovely calligraphy and handlettering- I think this is such a beautiful artform (you can contact her for custom requests or collabs here:

One of our Christmas traditions is to spend the whole day in our Lazy Ones red plaid onesies!  They are so comfy and festive!  I love looking back at each Christmas family photo and seeing how much the girls have grown!

Last year we bought this little tree on clearance from Ikea after Christmas.  We were looking for cute tiny ornaments in stores so that the girls could decorate it, but we didn’t end up finding any.  During the last minute, I decided to crochet a puffy little star and these adorable little balls- I crocheted around wooden beads rather than stuffing them with fiberfill to give them some weight and to get that perfect round shape.  I used Lion Brand Yarn’s Bonbons & Patons Grace!  I will blog about it next year, and I plan to crochet around the pot too.  I love how simple, modern, and colourful our little tree is!  In the meantime if you can find any little trees on sale post-Christmas, snatch one up so we can decorate them together next year!

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and the last few days of 2015!  May we remember Jesus and the hope and light He brings to the world
