I’ve made some bulky/chunky blankets for my adult kids & spouses/fiancee’; attempting to make a sweater vest for my favorite father in law and I’m crocheting ornaments for all of my kids, their spouses/fiancee’ and my husband. Its a tradition that I began over 30 years ago: I make (or buy if I run out of time) a new ornament for all of us every year for Christmas. Then as they were ready to move out, they took all of the ornaments with them-and depending upon their ages, would have a small starter set of ornaments for their own Christmas trees. That way, they wouldn’t start off with a bare Christmas tree.

Since I’ve learned to crochet about 19/20 months ago, I’m attempting to keep up the tradition with crocheted ornaments. I’m finding them to take a bit longer than maybe some other projects I’ve done in the past. I’m still learning how to pace myself with projects.

I’ll be making a a scarf and maybe some gloves for my mother (she is really tough to figure out gift ideas). Next year, I’ll try to make a poncho or sweater for her. I’m not sure what my husband will be getting (made by me). I’m still trying to start a Lapghan from last year!! LOL
Maybe I’ll make a beanie for him with the colors of his favorite hockey team: St. Louis Blues!
