I suppose you already found out yourself. Just in case you didn’t: The yarn mentioned is the last one, the one from the leg chains.
Here’s my experience. After you cut the yarn at the end of row 25, you’ll do a part of the trunk. Afterwards, the leg chains start. Here, I just joined the cut yarn to my ball again and basically continued row 25. After that, you never cut it off again until you reach the end of the first leg.
If you happen to have an additional piece of yarn in the same colour (or have the other end handy), you don’t even need to cut the yarn at the end of row 25, you could just do the trunk with the surplus and then continue with the leg chains.
